There was no department heads reports.

 

The board discussed a Grade-all the Town of Chenango has and wants to sell for a price of $10,000.00.  It has 4 wheel drive and is in good shape.

We do hereby approve an amount not to exceed $10,000.00 or less  for purchase of the Grade-all based on Jake Slack’s approval.

On the gradall we own we can put it out for bid as we did the trucks and if not happy with the bids we could send it to the auction held by Broome County in the fall. 

 

The sale of the trucks was to be used to balance the budget.

 

1-Communications:  Broome County Association of Towns will be holding their meeting (Lobby Day) on April 27, 2006 at McGirks Pub.  Buffet dinner.

2-A letter was read to ask the board to help recognize our Firefighter Heroes.  They are having a fundraiser on Friday, July 14th from 5-8 pm at the Town Square Mall, Vestal. NY

3- Emergency Services Training will be held on June 29, 2006

from 1-4 pm at the  Broome County Auditorium.

4- Broome Co. Planning will be holding classes on the new code for code enforcement officers on May 10, 2006.

Sub Division Regulations on June 6, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

Speed limit was mentioned.  Paperwork is done waiting to hear back.

 

The Small Cities Block Grant has been submitted.

 

Benjamin on the web site.  He talked with Advanced Computer and they will do a web site for a fee of $500.00.  It was suggested that something be put on to tell how many hits the site gets.

Clerk Costley told that she found out that the Pennysaver was not being delivered to the town residents holding a Maine, NY address.  She called and talked to the CEO who has stated he will get that back in circulation so we may continue to use the editorial for advertising.

 

The board asked that sealed bids be received for fuels at the May meeting.  The Clerk will get information on the state bids and also the information on the bids last year for review.
