Town of Nanticoke

Regular Meeting

6-20-2006   7 p.m.

 

Members Present:   Supervisor Ellis, Councilmen: Benjamin, Forkey, Loveless, Whittaker

 

Also Present:  Glenn Simpson, Charles Yesalusky, Jake Slack

 

Supervisor Ellis opened the meeting at 7 p.m. and led the pledge to the flag.

 

Motion by Forkey, Seconded by Loveless, Carried

We do hereby approve the minutes of the May 16, 2006 meeting. 5 ayes

 

Motion by Whittaker, Seconded by Benjamin, Carried

We do hereby approve the minutes of the June 1, 2006 meeting.  5 ayes

 

Motion by Benjamin,  Seconded by Loveless, Carried

We do hereby accept the Supervisor’s report as read. 

Vote: Whittaker, Forkey, Loveless, Benjamin, Ellis  All ayes

 

Dept. Head reports;  Historian told that the parade in Binghamton went off without any hitches for Broome County 200 years. 

 

Correspondence:  Broome County is presenting a proclamation for the Fire Fighters of Broome County on July 9 th at the Town Square Mall.

They asked the town to present one also.  Supervisor will ask Attorney Scheawe to prepare one.

 

Old Business:  The GPS to allow credit card usage for the courd is being sign ed and will be used in the Justice Department for now.

Motion by Benjamin,  Seconded by Forkey, Carried

We do hereby approve and authorize the Supervisor to sign the GPS paperwork and agreement to allow the usage of credit cards in the Justice Court.  Vote:  Whittaker, Loveless, Forkey, Benjamin, Ellis-All Ayes

 

The board discussed the price of fuel oils and asked that a letter be sent to Mirabito Fuel Group stating that there bid was rejected and we will be buying off of state bid pricing. 

The board discussed that the furnace is having to have a lot of repairs and felt it was  worth looking into a propane boiler to replace the existing one.

 

The Town’s equalization rate is.81.

 

Motion by Loveless, Seconded by Whittaker, Carried

We do hereby authorize that the bills be paid as presented.  Vote: 5 ayes

 

Meeting opened to the public.  No one spoke at this time.
