Regular Meeting
Absent: Edward Loveless
Also present were: Jake Slack, Glenn Simpson, Mark Gorgos,
Ralph Forkey.

Dept. head reports;
Highway Superintendent Slack reported damages to
Code Enforcement Officer Simpson: Stated that there is 5 -6 trailers to go
into one of the parks in Glen Aubrey.
They will be putting in pads etc. to repair the parks. The old
Benjamin stated as code enforcement officer and if
they are in violation then you should take them to court. No code enforcer should take abuse they
should respect your position. Letters will be sent to all park owners
of the law that they will have to have a building permit to move a trailer in
or out of a park. The rates will be
published in the Pennysaver.
General Committee talked of the web site and has not
heard back from Advanced Computer as of yet.

There was a discussion of a digital voice recorder
which takes the smart cards to record on and then can be transferred to a
cd. The board asked that the clerk
talk to the Justice to see if the recorder could be used by both offices.
The copy Machine was discussed and it was determined
to see how much it would be to fix the one we have and if not too bad then we
can look into the matter further for a copier.
The Town Clerk gave information to the board to be
appointed as a marriage officer. In
our Town having only one justice it has come up that perhaps a Marriage officer
could be available for the need.
The position would have to be created and then an appointment made
designating a marriage officer.

it has been brought before the Town Board to establish the position of Town
Marriage Officer, and
Whereas, the Town Board would like to establish this
position,
Therefore, be it Resolved, the position of Town of

Whereas, the Town Board of the Town of
Whereas, the Town Clerk, Joanne Costley would like the
position,
Therefore, be it resolved, the Town Board appoints
Joanne Costley as Marriage Officer for the Town of
Nanticoke, and
Therefore, be it further resolved, this appointment is
to take effect immediately.

Supervisor Ellis told that the
Evans Plumbing and Heating prposed a hi-efficiency
boiler without a power vent. Price
around $2500.00.

We do hereby appoint the firm
of Coughlin & Gerhart, Attorneys to represent the Town for legal
purposes. Mark Gorgos will be the
Town’s Attorney for the balance of 2006 with a retainer of $3,000.00. He stated he would like to come out to
the Town Board meetings more than once a year. (They will be submitting claims for
payment and not be on a payroll.)

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Ralph Forkey wanted to know why the highway dept. has
so many part time men and why they are not sent home when there is not work for
them? He stated the sluice by his
house is plugged and has been for some time and runs across into a neighbor’s
barn. Why is there no signs on the
trucks stating Town of
The Highway Supt. and the town board stated that he
has been working and has had work for those on part time help. He said he would check the sluice to see
if it is plugged but it hasn’t been.
All the questions were answered as best as they could be.
Mr. Forkey and Mr. Ellis were going out to tour the
problems with the roads.
C. Forkey Jr. asked if they found out anything on the
comparison on a 5 day work week vs. A 10 hr 4 day work week.
