Dept. head reports;

Highway Superintendent Slack reported damages to DelCar Drive and Kenyon Road due to the flooding.  The Towns of northern Broome helped each other in the clean up and repair.

Code Enforcement Officer Simpson:  Stated that there is 5 -6 trailers to go into one of the parks in Glen Aubrey.  They will be putting in pads etc. to repair the parks.  The old Greens Mobile Park on Rt 26 will be designated for Seniors.  The old DC2 will be phased out and the mobile homes will be moved to the old DC5 Park.  The local law will have to be researched as to the fact that a permit is needed to place a mobile home in a park when moved from one park to another due to different tax maps and the assessor will need the information for his records.   Mr. Simpson felt someone else should tell him he will need to get permits.

Benjamin stated as code enforcement officer and if they are in violation then you should take them to court.  No code enforcer should take abuse they should respect your position.  Letters will be sent to all park owners of the law that they will have to have a building permit to move a trailer in or out of a park.  The rates will be published in the Pennysaver.

General Committee talked of the web site and has not heard back from Advanced Computer as of yet.

Communications:  None

There was a discussion of a digital voice recorder which takes the smart cards to record on and then can be transferred to a cd.  The board asked that the clerk talk to the Justice to see if the recorder could be used by both offices.

The copy Machine was discussed and it was determined to see how much it would be to fix the one we have and if not too bad then we can look into the matter further for a copier.

The Town Clerk gave information to the board to be appointed as a marriage officer.  In our Town having only one justice it has come up that perhaps a Marriage officer could be available for the need.  The position would have to be created and then an appointment made designating a marriage officer.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Ralph Forkey wanted to know why the highway dept. has so many part time men and why they are not sent home when there is not work for them?  He stated the sluice by his house is plugged and has been for some time and runs across into a neighbor’s barn.  Why is there no signs on the trucks stating Town of Nanticoke?  When it rains he stated the boys weren’t doing anything.

The Highway Supt. and the town board stated that he has been working and has had work for those on part time help.  He said he would check the sluice to see if it is plugged but it hasn’t been.  All the questions were answered as best as they could be.

Mr. Forkey and Mr. Ellis were going out to tour the problems with the roads.

C. Forkey Jr. asked if they found out anything on the comparison on a 5 day work week vs. A 10 hr 4  day work week.
