Simpson brought work write ups for the Small Cities Block Grant and wanted the board to look at them and get input on building permits and what to charge.
In the next month they will be looking at recommendations for the first 5-6 .They will make sure they have qualified, an inspection of the property was done, setting the needs of the property, the write up will be sent to the property owners, and that a building permit is required. Insurance will be required by the property owner which will list the town on the policy. A permit for remodeling will be set at $5.00 which will cover renovations over $10,000.00. A Miscellaneous permit will cover anything not listed such as a deck etc. for an amount of $5.00.

We do hereby resolve that the position of Councilman vacant due to the death of Edward Loveless be open to be filled. Interested parties will have to fill out an application, write a letter of why they want to hold the position and give a description of their qualifications to hold the position. The notice will be posted on the bulletin board inside and outside the Town Hall and applications must be returned by February 13, 2007 to the Town Clerk.

J. Slack asked about the 10 hr. work days per week. He said it saves the town money and gives no benefit to me or the workers. If it snowed every Friday then they would look at it again. If the highway dept. loses money or if it costs the town money I would look at it more but at this time we get more done on working the roads and other things done in the department.
Mr. Whittaker felt it was important that the Town Board get al on with the Highway Superintendent.
