Special Meeting 7 pm

Also Present:  Glenn Simpson, Charles & Rosemarie Yesalusky, Dennis , Terry Gow and son, Gary Smith, Bob & William Bruce.

A Public Hearing was opened on the Glen Aubrey Fire District  ( Fire Protection #1)

For an amount of $57,022.00.  No one spoke for or against the contract ,  The hearing was closed at 7:-4 pm

A public hearing was opened on the Nanticoke Fire Company  (Fire Protection #2)

For an amount of 51,465.00.  No one spoke for or against the contract.  The hearing was closed at 7:08 pm.

Meeting opened to the public:

Broome County Fire Chiefs are holding a recruitment day for firemen on January 19.2008 stressing the need for new firemen.  They mentioned Whitney Point High School will be giving credit to the seniors who take a course for fire fighting.  They will give a $2500 prize if the student sticks with the program.

Broome County Legislature has funding for A.D.D.training in CPR. January 14.2008 Cpr training  ($10 person-pd by Broome County)

The following was received  from Broome County as revenues for 2007.

            Sales Tax                     $339,487.00

            Host Comm. Benefits    $339,487.00

            Mortgage tax                $    7,068.45

            State Aid                      $  11,093.00

            Snow Aid                     $  31,572.00   

            Chips                           $34,582.00

Motion by Benjamin, Seconded by Baker, Carried

We do hereby authorize the payment of the bills as audited and to authorize the transfers as listed.

Vote: Whittaker, Baker, Forkey, Benjamin, Ellis   5 ayes

The board discussed the Grover property and felt they would best if they had a work session to discuss the matter. 

Motion by Benjamin, Seconded by Whittaker, Carried

We do hereby accept the contracts for the Glen Aubrey Fire Company known as Fire Protection #1 in the amount of  $57,022.00 and the Nanticoke Fire Company known as Fire Protection #2 in the amount of  $51,46.00.

Vote: Whittaker, Baker, Forkey, Benjamin, Ellis   5ayes

The regular meeting will be held on the 3^rd Tuesday of January ,2008.
